THE STORY

I open my eyes to see the warm light shining upon the white carpet. I can hear the music from my alarm clock. I am tired, for the night before I was raiding an Elyos Outpost in the abyss with some good friends of mine. I am /b.

I Look at my clock and its 9:26 I crawl out of bed looking for my keys. I put on my black slip resistant shoes and head out. After a long 2 minutes I arrive at the back door also known as the Fortress door of Doe Brothers. I am a Asmodian.

I open the door and the entire building is bright. I pull off all the frozen ice cream lids, one after another my hands become cold and numb. Chairs still on the tables I begin Sweeping and Mopping all of the floors. Someone comes in the front door and asks "Are you open?"... I look at our sign on the front door that says "Sorry we are Closed" The Open light sing that's turned off, all the chairs that are on the tables another sign on the door that says "We open at 11:00" and finally me with no uniform on, and mopping the floor, I politely said "Sorry mam, but we are not open right now. You can come back at 11:00 and have lunch." She replies, "Oh, so your not open?" I said "Correct"

Befuddled I continued my opening responsibilities. I am Munin's good friend.
11:00AM
I turn on the open sign, switch closed signs for open signs and began wrapping silverware. As I was wrapping I watched as tourists patrolled up and down the sidewalks. Then I see someone on the other side trying to get into the "Sweet Palace". They are closed on Saturdays because of there religion. I watched them as they Pushed and Pulled on the door, looking through the windows trying to comprehend why, WHY the "Sweet Palace" would be closed on a Saturday.

So, The pedestrians come up with the most logical idea, and heads over to Doe Brothers for some answers. The person who tried to get into the "Sweet Palace" asks "Is the Sweet Palace closed today, or is the Sweet Palace Closed down?" Now id understand if he asked why is the Sweet Palace closed today. Id like to say "Well sir, since you tried pushing and pulling the door, there was no one in the building when you were looking through the window, and there is a sign that simple puts it "Closed" then yes the Sweet Palace is closed today" But I actually say "Yep there closed every Saturday because of there religion." As i am telling them the story I see another family Pushing and Pulling on the Sweet Palace door TT_TT.

Then I have the first two tables of the day, I think only two good. Well they sat down at the same time, So I bring the closer table menu's first to establish that they will be served first. I get the menu's distributed and go to the first table and ask "Can I get you something to drink while you decide on what you would like to order?" The lady said "Were not ready to order." Now I've learned that when waiting on tables customers usually have a fix on something to drink after a minute or so not all of them though. I said "Ok, but would you like something to drink right now?" She replied "Two big glasses of water, but one with no ice." "Ok" I replied. I brought them the drinks and the second table has been in here before, so there ready to order.
I walk over there and ask "What would you like today?" She says "Can I have the #3 with your homemade chips." I replied "Of course and would you like that a third of a pound or a half of a pound today?" and Confused maybe even embarrassed she said "Which one is smaller." The Husband looks at her with some eyes that are saying "Come on" and he says "The Third of a pound!" Everyone laughs about the moment and I continue to take the order. It may be just me, but not knowing which is bigger is surprising and this is not the first time this has happened.

After turning the orders in I come back out to see two people waiting for service at the fountain. I walk up there and ask "How may I help you?" She says confidently "I want 2 Espresso's to go" So i begin making the Espresso's and I gave them to her. Now for those like her who don't know what an Espresso is, it's a shot of strait coffee, nothing is added. She says to me "What are these I ask for Espresso's." "This is a Espresso" I said. She says "Where is the milk and froth?" Well needless to say I have to explain everything about coffee to these type of customers and then take there Espresso's and turn them into Latte's, Mocha's ect... But a lot of customers order an espresso so now and days I explain before they finish ordering

Well this is all I feel like typing today. The story will continue, don't worry. There is always a new way to make my day at Doe Brothers Soda Fountain. Oh yea and this story is the story of waiting tables for 4 and a half years now
